Shimizu, Japan Overview
Shimizu is a town in Suntō District of Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. As of June 2012, the town has an estimated population of 32,410 and a population density of 3,670 persons per km. The total area is 8.84 km.
Shimizu is located at the northern end of Izu Peninsula. The Kakita River flows through the town. The area has a temperate maritime climate with hot, humid summers and mild, cool winters.
