Kanazawa is the capital city of Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. Kanazawa sits on the Sea of Japan, bordered by the Japanese Alps, Hakusan National Park and Noto Peninsula National Park. The city sits between the Sai and Asano rivers. Its total area is 467.77 km.

Kanazawa’s weather is temperate though rainy. Average temperatures are slightly cooler than those of Tokyo though, with means approximately 4 °C (39 °F) in January, 15 °C (59 °F) in April, 25 °C (77 °F) in July and August, 15 °C (59 °F) in October, and 5 °C (41 °F) in December.

The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa is a museum of contemporary art located in Kanazawa, Ishikawa, Japan. The museum was designed by Japanese architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa of the architect office SANAA in 2004. In October 2005, one year after its opening the Museum marked 1,570,000 visitors.
Ishikawa Prefectural History Museum is a prefectural museum in Kanazawa, Japan, dedicated to the history and culture of Ishikawa Prefecture. The three ICP red brick buildings date to 1909-14 and functioned first as the local arsenal, then after the Pacific War as the Kanazawa College of Art, before being converted into a museum in 1986.
The shrine was established in 1599 in Utatsuyama (卯辰山), east of Kanazawa. It was moved to its present location in 1873 and renamed to Oyama-jinja. The main gate was constructed in 1875. This gate is a peculiar mix of traditional Japanese, Chinese, and European religious architectural elements.
Kanazawa Castle is a large, well-restored castle in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. It is located adjacent to the celebrated Kenroku-en Garden, which once formed the castle's private outer garden.
Ishikawa was formed from the merger of Kaga Province and the smaller Noto Province. Ishikawa is on the Sea of Japan coast. The northern part of the prefecture consists of the narrow Noto Peninsula, while the southern part is wider and consists mostly of mountains with the prefecture's chief city, Kanazawa, located in the coastal plain.
The name "Kanazawa" (金沢), which literally means "marsh of gold", is said to derive from the legend of the peasant Imohori Togoro (lit. "Togoro Potato-digger"), who was digging for potatoes when flakes of gold washed up. The well in the grounds of Kenrokuen known as 'Kinjo Reitaku' (金城麗澤)was recreated by the Maeda lords to acknowledge these roots.

The house say "Buke Yashiki" where a samurai lived in. "Buke Yashiki" was surrounded at a wall. In this wall "Dobei" , soil was plastered. In the present age, there became few places with such an earthen wall in Japan. This earth wall "Tsuchikabe" is used in a house.
